MY STORY
WHAT DID YOU DO WRONG?
When you're the mom of an addicted loved one you often think,
What did I do wrong?
You didn't do anything wrong.
The reason your child has a substance use disorder is not a motherhood flaw or a parenting error.
The time you spent parenting your child are the comforting memories that will help you get through the difficulty.
WHAT CAN YOU DO NOW?
Once you heal from believing that you had something to do with your child's addiction,
you'll be able to have all those things
you need to live a fulfilling life, like:
Energy. Sleep. Joy. Closer relationships with your friends and family. Confidence. Purpose. Passion.
Get in tune with your regrets,
shame, guilt, and find ways to let
LET GO so you
can LOVE WELL and
LIVE FULLY.
WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?
When addiction rocked my family, everything changed.
None of my friends understood.
Counselors would nod and listen
But they didn't have a plan to save our family.
I wanted to find a group of moms who understood, would hold my hand and tell me what to do and what not to do, and why what I did mattered.
I could NOT find what I was looking for, so I created it.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I said,
What do you want me to do about this, God?
He answered:
Learn everything you can about addiction,
so you can serve Moms, like you.
Moms who need hope,
Moms who need encouragement,
Moms who need you to lead the way.
Build a community
Teach them what addiction is and why this is happening to their children.
He said,
I have gifted you with everything you need ...
The ability to write,
To share openly,
To lead,
To help the broken know that they matter,
That addicts are people too.
You must tell Moms this ...
When their bodies are worn down, they can't live in their purpose.
How? I'm only one person?
You will grow. Believe, he said.
When the addicted ones understand that there is more,
In Me,
by watching you and your love,
When he sees that you are confident in knowing this,
The devil will subside.
Your children will follow.
Your children will want the same.
HIS words led me down this road to build a community for Moms like you,
To write the book, Moms Letting Go Without Giving Up.
From there I lead you to
LOVE WELL and LIVE FULLY.
I'm serving my purpose.
Building a legacy.
Bringing a community to Moms who had none.
We are sharing together
With love and understanding
Praying for each other
Through anxiety
Addiction
Despair
Death
and
Building
Hope and encouragement.
WHO WE ARE NOW:
We are a Community of Moms
The All Mighty Moms
We kneel together
and hold hands of hope
To stop the stigma,
Save ourselves,
so we can find recovery solutions for our children
and
End the addiction epidemic.
